Real Estate Profession

Cover ArtSome 1.3 million agents belong to the National Association of Realtors® (and Realtor will be used for all future uses of this word on the web site), with estimates of a half million to a million more real estate professionals not among the NAR ranks.

No matter what state you live in, which company, or whether you’re a seasoned real estate veteran of 30+ years or you’ve only been in this field a brief time, agents all have at least one thing in common. They enjoy telling their respective “war” stories about their careers when they get together. Out of these sessions, was born the idea of compiling these stories in one place, a book called All in a Day's Work for Real Estate Agents: Humorous and Heartwarming Stories.

Cover ArtThis book includes experiences from agents in 44 states and Canada. Congratulations to Texas, who tops the list with 9 stories. Georgia and Florida round out the top 3, with 8 stories apiece. When the author searched for stories, no preference was given any particular state or company, as evidenced by the fact that independent/small real estate firms account for more than 30 stories in the book. Our top three national firms include RE/MAX with 17 stories, Keller Williams, 13 stories and Coldwell Banker, 9 stories. However, have no fear, for real estate organizations such as Prudential, Weichert, Realty Executives, Century 21, ERA, Crye-Leike and Exit all have representation in the book.

Because real estate professionals assist families with finding homes, Work Like A Dog Books felt it was important to give part of the proceeds of the All in a Day's Work for Real Estate Agents: Humorous and Heartwarming Stories book to charities that indirectly support this notion.

We have selected two charities, one that helps homeless or abused women and children find shelter and safety, and another national organization that assists pets with finding new homes.

In addition, Realtor organizations wishing to buy bulk quantities to use for sale as a fund-raiser, please contact Tammy McDaniel at Work Like A Dog Books. A program is in place to offer the books at a savings so profits can be used to support Habitat for Humanity and whatever worthwhile cause your local or state real estate organization backs. So, for example, if 200 books were purchased at $10 each and resold for the cover price of $14.95, that would result in approximately $1,000 raised for your charity.
